So, we’ve put together a handy guide to help you understand which social platforms you might (or might not) need!
Take a look below to find out more...
Blogs
It’s safe to say that almost any business with a website will benefit from having a blog.
Blogs are great for showcasing informative, insightful content, so when your customers (or potential customers!) visit your website, they’ll see in-depth articles that show that you have a high level of expertise in your field.
They’re also a highly effective way to boost your website’s SEO (Search Engine Optimisation), which ultimately keeps Google (and other search platforms) happy, helps you to rank higher and brings more traffic to your website.
Email Newsletters
Newsletters are hands down the best way to engage with your customers direct into their inboxes. They’re also useful for announcing updates, upcoming events, competitions or new products, as well as showcasing your latest work and achievements.
By directly reaching the devices of those within your target market, newsletters instantly grab attention and digitally direct your customers to where you need them to engage.
The great thing about this platform is that people willingly sign up to be communicated with, so you already know that they’re interested in what you want to share.
Instagram can be a very powerful promotional tool. With over 3 billion users, it’s a popular, frequently-used platform, suitable for a wide variety of purposes.
Instagram is great for sharing visually appealing and engaging content, as well as advertising and shaping your brand’s image. It can be as suitable for larger businesses with a global target market, as smaller organisations, who might need to keep their reach local.
While it was initially a platform designed for posting single pictures, it’s grown into a dynamic medium, featuring carousels, stories and reels. With all of that in mind, it’s unlikely that we wouldn’t recommend making the most out of Instagram!
With over 3.07 billion users, Facebook is currently the most popular social media platform. As part of Meta, it’s connected to Instagram, providing the option of managing both platforms from one powerful back-end.
Like Instagram, Facebook has evolved over the years. Currently, as well as being a great way to advertise, it’s particularly useful for building communities, whether it be by utilising Facebook groups or gaining traction on your page.
TikTok
Rising in popularity, TikTok currently has over 1.6 billion users worldwide. It began as a platform to join in on video trends and has now become a source of engaging content across a variety of topics.
Of all the available platforms, TikTok is the one that has the potential to give you the opportunity for your content and message to go viral, reaching vast numbers of people. If your business lends itself to interesting video content. we may well recommend using TikTok for promotion!
While Pinterest might seem like an alternative to Instagram, it’s a powerful platform that’s very well suited to design-focused, product-led or ideas-based content.
Typically, we’d recommend investing time into Pinterest if you have an artistic business, such as interior design, interior styling, fashion styling, floristry, product making, painting or illustration.
If you sell products that you want to advertise, create recipes or share any type of pin-able content, Pinterest could be a very useful tool to grow your business!
LinkedIn continues to grow in popularity, with companies, business owners and individual professionals engaging with the platform more than ever before.
It’s a great platform for B2B networking – particularly reaching new customers and staying connected with your loyal customers. Like other social networking platforms, it is also helpful in shaping your brand’s image.
LinkedIn is an effective platform for any company or individual that interacts with businesses or other professionals and a great place to share insights and ideas.
Youtube
If your business lends itself to being promoted by engaging, high-quality video content, YouTube could be a great place for you to showcase your products or services.
YouTube works really well for longer videos, particularly interviews, podcasts, tutorials or videos that tell a story. Now, with the addition of Shorts, it can also be great for posting snappier videos that perform well on Instagram and TikTok.
If you’re open to producing longer videos, we’d highly recommend making the most out of YouTube!
