Another month, another update, this month includes changes to the algorithm, direct messaging and audio.
A focus on sharing
User behaviour is changing, people are interacting more in the inbox than before, and less comments are being left on posts. With this Instagram is actively pushing content that is ‘share worthy’, whether it’s humorous, relatable or aspirational, creating content people want to share is a way to get your posts seen by more people.
Edits now allowed
With DMs being used more and more, Instagram has added a new feature where you can edit your message up to 15 minutes after sending. To use this feature press and hold the sent message and select edit. You can also Unsend!
Adding multiple audio tracks to your reels
Can’t choose which song for your reel? You can now add up to 20 audio tracks in one real. This feature is aimed at encouraging creativity. Use the “add to mix” button in Instagrams video editor. You can then select the clips of each song you want to use and where they will sit in your video
New subscription plans for Meta Verified – not yet launched in the UK
Meta introduces four subscription plans across the US. Meta Verified aims to help your business build credibility, drive, engagement, get extra support and grow your brand. The highest tier includes personalised account advice, dedicated support and more impersonation protection.
